CAROLINE SHAW (formerly Caroline Reece) – Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor
Caroline began her career in the United Kingdom after graduating with honours in 2000. In addition to working as a Physiotherapist in a busy and proactive physiotherapy company in the UK, Caroline provided physiotherapy for a number of ‘soccer’ (football!) and rugby teams. Since moving to Australia in 2003, Caroline has worked in private practice and was also the physiotherapist to an Australian Rules football team in the WAFL. In 2007 she completed post graduate studies towards a certificate in orthopaedic manual therapy through Curtin University.
In 2005 Caroline became a qualified Clinical Pilates instructor and has since been teaching Pilates for injury rehabilitation and prevention. She has completed further Pilates training through the internationally recognised Polestar Pilates and has also completed specialised training in the Franklin Method of movement rehabilitation.
Caroline has a special interest in neck pain, headaches, dysfunctional breathing, posture/movement retraining and pelvic stability. She also has expertise in acupuncture and pelvic floor rehabilitation.
DANIEL RISPOLI – Physiotherapist
Daniel graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2003 and has been working in private practice since then. He has had significant experience in the areas of musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries, exercise prescription, post operative rehabilitation and spinal injuries. He also has qualifications in acupuncture and the treatment of Benign Positional Vertigo.
Daniel has a keen interest in lower back pain and knee injuries. He also has specialised skills in kinesiotaping, a form of strapping which provides more flexibility and assists in injury rehabilitation and pain reduction.
AMY RELO-FISHER– Physiotherapist
Amy graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2008. Since then, she has gained experience in a wide range of musculoskeletal, spinal and sporting conditions. She has also worked in aged care where she implemented programmes to target falls prevention, mobility and specific pathologies including Parkinson’s disease and strokes.
Amy has qualifications in acupuncture and realtime ultrasound imaging for pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has a special interest in neck pain, headaches, neurological conditions and women's health. She is also very active with further interest in sports-specific injuries and rehabilitation. Amy is trained in kinesiotaping and treatment of benign positional vertigo.
MICHAEL POPE – Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor
Michael graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2010 and has since been trained in acupuncture and exercise rehabilitation. He also completed training as a clinical Pilates Instructor in Sydney where he enjoyed using Pilates to rehabilitate complex pain conditions. He has predominantly worked in the private practice setting and enjoys treating sporting injuries and lower back pain. Mike has also been trained in kinesiotaping and treatment for benign positional vertigo.
ERICA CLAYTON (formerly Erica Landon) – Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor
Erica has returned to our clinic after working in South Australia for two years. She has been in the healthcare field for over 15 years, and graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2006 with a Master of Physiotherapy. Prior to this she had completed a BSc (honours) in human movement from the University of Illinois. She worked for several years as a clinical and sports massage therapist, treating professional athletes both in America and Australia. Erica is one of our clinical Pilates instructors and is currently advancing her Pilates skills through completion of the internationally recognised Polestar Pilates diploma.
In addition to Pilates and corrective exercise prescription, Erica is has a strong focus on manual therapy, and special interests in cervicogenic headaches, postural correction and sporting injuries. She is also proficient in acupuncture, core stability training and pelvic floor rehabilitation.
DAVID CLOVER – Podiatrist
David graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 1997. He has developed a broad scope of practice in the podiatry profession after working in the public sector at the podiatry department at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for 8 years along with running his own practice for the past 11 years. He has a particular interest in diabetic related foot problems, musculoskeletal injuries and minor surgical procedures involving nail and skin conditions.
More recently, David has been exploring other treatment modalities such as acupuncture and myofascial trigger point therapy to compliment his current treatment regimes for the foot and ankle region.
JULIE SPRYN – Practice Manager
Julie oversees the running of the clinic in addition to working two days a week on reception. She undertakes most of the administrative work for the clinic in addition to looking after the rest of the Flinders Ave Physio family.
Julie has taken on the role of social coordinator for the clinic, organising regular team get-togethers such as bowling and mini-golf! In her spare time Julie enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Julie is supported by our fantastic receptionist team, Heidi, Jacqui and Janelle who between them have been in the customer service industry for over 30 years! Jointly, they work hard to provide our clients with a high standard of customer service and a warm welcome to our clinic.
